Candied Walnuts

Even though your Thanksgiving meal will be over by this weekend, there is still plenty of time to whip up tasty treats for entertaining during the holiday season. This is one of my favorite ways to eat walnuts. You can put them out for snacking as hor d'oeuvre paired with your favorite cheeses, add them to salads, top grain dishes like quinoa, or use them as a topping on any other dishes such as Chinese Chicken or Beef!
1/2 # bag walnuts
2 TBS butter
3 TBS honey
optional: Cinnamon, pinch of salt, cayenne peper
Toast the walnuts in a cast iron skillet or other heavy pan until fragrant. Add in butter and honey and optional seasonings such as cinnamon or cayenne.  Stir until thickened, then place on a parchment-lined baking tray, separating the nuts as you do. Let cool and enjoy!
