Roasted Delicata & Fennel

2 Delicata squash, de-seeded and sliced
1 large fennel bulb, sliced
1/2 c. rendered lard or bacon grease
2 tbs fresh rosemary
1/2  bunch freshly chopped basil
1 tsp red pepper flakes
salt to taste
Directions:
mix all ingredients till combined and lay out in a single layer on a on a large baking sheet. 
Bake at 400° for 30 minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped basil or homemade pesto. Enjoy immediately!
